The Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) provide individualized programs and support to people with developmental disabilities. HCS is actually popular among the aging people because it exemplifies a social policy away from nursing homes or other traditional settings.
It is a Medicaid waiver program; thus, giving Medicaid beneficiaries genuine and top-notch care in their own home or community, rather than in an institution or any isolated setting. This program also provides opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to live their lives as independently and normally as possible in a home-like setting.
